This hackathon will focus on real life application of Blockchain & Data Science technologies in different industries. Participants are equally encouraged to generate, validate, and build ideas and continue working on respective projects even after the hackathon.
The Babylon Project is a movement to grow Blockchain developer ecosystems worldwide. Developers will build Blockchain skills and develop decentralized applications. Potential focus areas include, but are not limited to, DeFi, Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs), Decentralized Exchanges (DEXs), lending protocols, insurance, synthetic assets & smart contracts in any industry.
The Data Science track will focus on the Data Driven Economy. Participants will gain extra points by applying data science concepts in decentralized applications.

YES. All final participants will be issued ERC20 certificate of participation.
How does judging work?
Details of the judging will be announced in Discord. Top rated teams will have the opportunity to present/demo their project in front of all participants . Finalists will pitch at our closing ceremony in an international conference, which will also be viewable globally via live stream.
The Babylon Project 2020 will award more than $100,000 to the winning team, plus 12 weeks of business and tech acceleration as ongoing support. The 2020 World Blockchain event will also award additional prizes to other notable winning concepts, innovations and projects as assessed by this year's more than 30 judges.
What is Discord?
Discord is our official communication channel during and after the hackathon. It is a community platform.
Discord is built to allow you and other members to message each other.
When do I get access to Discord
October 1st. All accepted participants will get private invitation to join The Babylon Project's Discord. 8 days before the hackathon is enough time to acquaint oneself with the community and materials and form teams and get ready for 72 hours of magic.
Individual or Team Approach
The maximum participants in a team is 10. Participants are encouraged to form teams. However, even a single engineer can compete for prizes during the hackathon.
Can I participate if I am not a developer?
YES. Building a company requires several skills. All tech professionals are welcome to apply, such as UX/UI designers, entrepreneurs, BizDev, etc.
Do I have to speak English to participate in the Hackathon?
English is the official language of the hackathon. Make sure to have an english speaker in your team as all instructions and presentations will be in the English Language.
Who owns the IP?
The Intellectual Property belongs to the team unless a sponsoring organization has the option to provide tasks with exclusive IP rights. In such cases, all participants will be notified in advance.

Can I participate with a pre-existing project?
Yes. Pre-existing projects are allowed to participate. However, you will have to build a new feature for an existing project that is unique and standalone. Judges will make the final decision on whether a project will qualify for prize consideration.
